We are thrilled to welcome the founder and former CEO of MakeMusic Inc., John Paulson, to our talented family of composers. John has developed the Latin American Music for Symphonic Band Series, a delightful collection filled with original works inspired by various traditional song & dances forms.
Serenata (Gr. 4 | ca. 5:30)
The Spanish word serenata means serenade, a low song often offered in the evening outside someone's home. John Paulson's Serenata beings with the simplest of melodies played by the oboe and accompanied by bassoon and marimba, which is then followed by a romantic mariachi band. Tango (Gr. 4.5 | ca. 5:25)
Why this fascination with the tango? Perhaps it is because the tango, more than any other popular dance, often tells a story. The resulting drama and ballet-like verve captivate dancers, musicians and audiences alike. John Paulson captures the essence of this popular dance in his original work for concert band simply titled Tango. Listen | Look Inside Score | Product Page
