NOAH D. TAYLOR (b. 1982)

Noah TaylorNoah D. Taylor is from Columbus, Ohio and earned his Bachelor of  Music in composition at the Capital University of Music. There he studied composition and orchestration from Rocky J. Reuter, Barry E. Kopetz, and James  Swearingen.  While attending Capital University many of Taylor‚s works were performed by his fellow students. Two Pieces for Trombone Choir was premiered at the 2001 International Trombone Association Conference.
 
Taylor won the composition category of the 2002 Capital University Concerto Competition with Condition Red, which was premiered by the Capital Symphonic Winds. Condition Red was also performed at the 2004 College Band Directors National Association Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has recently been performed at Kansas State University and Ball  State University.In February of 2005, his Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra was premiered by Brenton Dunnington and the Capital University-Bexley Community Orchestra.
 
Taylor recently graduated with  Master‚s degree composition from Bowling Green State University, where he studied with Marilyn Shrude, Burton Beerman, and Elainie Lillios. Taylor recently served as guest The University of Minnesota‚s Percussion Extravaganza. He is also the winner of the 2005 North American Student Composer Competition, sponsored by the Boston Metropolitan Wind Symphony.
